Like flutes are mostly girls, and trombones are mostly guys. Notice I said mostly, and not all of them. I'm one of three guys out of nine horns in my school. Though there are a few incoming male freshmen next year. By the way, i'm not looking for the "all instruments are for all genders" answer.


Close to even
Among the younger generations of horn players in North American music schools it seems to be about an even split. This is different than all of the other brass instruments which are still heavily biased towards male. It's just observational and anecdotal evidence... nothing concrete.
